Tu coche tiene más de 50 sensores. Electromecánica avanzada

Your car has more than 50 sensors. Do you know what they're for?

Discover how your car's sensors work silently to look after your safety, engine performance, and your wallet.

Sensors: the hidden brain of your modern car

Modern cars are no longer simple machines with an engine and wheels: they are true computers on four wheels. From the moment you turn the key (or press the start button), more than 50 sensors they get to work to ensure your safety, optimize fuel consumption, and enhance your driving experience.

At Zamule Cars (Palma de Mallorca), where every day we diagnose latest-generation vehicles, we see how these sensors are key to detecting any fault before it turns into a costly breakdown.

What sensors does your car have and what do they do?

Below, we show you some of the most important sensors:

1. Oxygen sensor (lambda)

Measures the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gases. It helps regulate the air-fuel mixture, improving efficiency and reducing emissions.

2. Oil pressure sensor

Monitors engine oil pressure. If a drop is detected, it illuminates the warning light on the dashboard to prevent serious damage.

3. Coolant temperature sensor

Prevent engine overheating and allow the cooling system to activate when necessary.

4. ABS sensor and traction control

Detects wheel rotation to prevent locking during sudden braking or loss of grip on bends or wet surfaces.

5. Crankshaft and camshaft sensor

They allow synchronization of the engine's ignition and injection, ensuring smooth and precise operation.

6. Turbo pressure sensor (MAP)

Regulates engine power and protects the turbo from potential overpressure.

7. Proximity and parking sensor

Helps the driver maneuver without risk of collisions, especially useful in urban areas like Palma.

Why is it important to keep them in good condition?

Each sensor performs a specific function, but they all work together.
When one fails, the car can enter protection mode (limp mode) or show symptoms such as:

  • Luz de “Check Engine” encendida.

  • Jerking or loss of power.

  • High fuel consumption.

  • Starting issues or unstable idle.

At Zamule Cars, we have latest generation diagnostic machines capable of reading, interpreting, and calibrating all vehicle sensors. Additionally, our technicians update the software and clean electrical connectors to prevent future failures.

Electronic diagnostics: more than just plugging in a machine

Muchos talleres simplemente “leen códigos de error”. En Zamule, vamos más allá:
1. We interpret real-time data.
2. We check the exact origin of the fault.
3. We provide a clear report to the client with photos or videos of the process.

Thus, we guarantee a precise, fast, and transparent repair.
